Ravid Abarbanel is a dancer, choreographer and teacher based in Israel / Spain.

Born in 1986 in Central Israel, she began dancing at the age of five and has continued to practice her passion ever since.

She began her professional training in the 'Maslool' - Professional Dance Program in Tel-aviv, under the direction of Naomi Perlov and Offir Dagan.

After completing the two-year program, she continued her studies at the Rotterdam Dance Academy in The Netherlands. 

She holds a B-Dance degree from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, and is a certified Pilates instructor specializing in the Balanced Body Method. 


In 2012 she awarded a full scholarship to the "DanceWEB" program at the “ImpulsTanz” festival in Viena, Austria . 

Her first solo piece 'Underneath' premiered as part of the Suzanne Dellal Center’s Shades Dance Festival 2015

and went on to win the 3th Prize for choreography at the International Dance Theatre Competition in Stuttgart, Germany. 

The solo was invited to perform in several cities in Germany and further afield during 2016-2018 such as Brans Crossing SoloDue Festival (Cologne) winning The Best performer price, Viva Danza Festival (Brazil), Gdańsk Dance Festival (Poland), FIDCDMX (Mexico City), Machol Shalem Dance Festival (Jerusalem), International Exposure and Tel Aviv Dance Festival, AbrilEnDansa Dance Festival (Spain). 

 

In August 2016, she created 'Crumbling', which premiered as a part of the Tel Aviv Dance Festival along with Ravid’s short dance film -‘Crumbling underneath’. 

 

In 2017 Ravid received a monthlong residency to create a duet, 'ALIZA' at the Derida Dance Center in Bulgaria. 'ALIZA' premiered in September 2017 as part of Suzanne Dellal Center’s Shades Dance Festival.

In 2018 Ravid received the ‘Ehud Manor’ Prize for supporting her new creation process 'WildHome', a collaboration with Carmen Larraz and Mario G.Saez. 

In 2019, she created 'HomeLima' for Ballet San Marcos in
Lima, Peru and awarded a full scholarship to participate as part of ICR program in American Dance Festival (ADF).  

 

Ravid, a passionate artist is determined to share her passion with others and teaches in parallel throughout a wide range of dance platforms mainly focusing on 'Happy Body', an improvisation and contemporary dance based classes, she developed.
